Thomas Gittins Wolverhampton

Can anyone help with the D O B and parents of the above please ?
He married Ellen May Hawkswood in Dec. 1931 and died I think mid 1970's in Wolverhampton
Any information greatly appreciated.

The marriage certificate would show his age (hopefully!) and his father's name! ;D

Or, if you know where he died, his age at death will be on the death registration - see FreeBMD


If we assume he was in his 20'd when he married, there are 33 Thomas Gittins births between 1900 and 1911! Including 2 in Wolverhampton, and others fairly close?! ::)

There's a death in Wolverhampton Registration District in Q1 1976 of a Thomas Gittins.  Gives his dob as 30 Nov 1907. 

Could that be your chappie?

Assuming no middle name,it looks like the death in 1976 in Wolverhampton.This gives a date of birth of 30/11/1907.it could very well be the birth showing in the Wolverhampton District in the Jan/Feb/Mar quarter of 1908.Some births weren't registered till January for some reason.

Hi and thanks to all, sorry for delay in replying.
I think the 1976 death is the one ( no middle name ) and hence DOB as 1907 but as said there is no ref on 1911 so parents still a mystery at the moment

There is a family listed as Giddins in 1911 that may be of interest.In this instance though the actual entry also looks like Giddins!

Cannot locate the Giddins family you mention but have sorted it from another source.
He was born 30.11.1907 ( ie the 1976 death ) f. Thomas. mo. Sarah Ann Palmer.

Look for Thomas Giddings born c 1908 Oxfordshire, England.
Living in Wolverhampton.
