McBRIDE
« on: Thursday 30 June 05 22:12 BST (UK) »
In researching my family tree mostly in Scotland i have now found a link to ?banbridge? i am unsure if this is the correct name but definitely county down.
In september 1859 GGG grandfather EDWARD McBRIDE married MARY O'HARE/O'SHEA this name is was unclear. How would i obtain a marriage certificate and is there anywhere i can search for their births? Their daughter was also born in ireland but i am unsure where, her name was MARY McBRIDE she married a JAMES LAVERY who was also born in ireland and again i am not sure where he was born, his parents were ANTHONY LAVERY and CHARLOTTE Mc? again i was unable to read this surname. ANTHONY LAVERY died in Scotland and from the certificate i have been able to get his parents names which were CHARLES LAVERY and MARGARET CLARKE,
Any help would be great as i have hit a brickwall now!!

In the right timescale to be yours, IGI have two births to an Edward McBride and Mary O'Hare:

Ann on 27th June 1865 at Banbridge
Theresa 18th May 1867 Banbridge

Would they then have gone to Bothwell, Scotland area? As IGI also have:

Bridget McBride 10th May 1874 Bothwell

Forgot to add, Banbridge would come under County Down. Do the documents you have indicate any Townland/Address?

You may or may not find this site helpful:

Just go to the surnames section and click on  section  that would cover McBride.

Also, it can be difficult to search for marriages before 1922 if the district and place of marriage is not known, but you may want to try:

BANBRIDGE DISTRICT COUNCIL, Council Office, Downshire Road, Banbridge, BT32 3JY.
Tel: 028 4066 0614 Fax: 028 4066 0601
email: info[--at--]banbridgedc.gov.uk

as you do have the district and month/year.

Thanks for that it seems to be the right family.
The only info i have is:
1881 census

EDWARD                44    IRELAND
JAMES                    4M    OLD MONKLANDS  (GRANDSON)
JAMES                    4      OLD MONKLANDS

MARY                     43     IRELAND
MARY                     19     IRELAND

From JOHNS birth certificate i got the details of their marriage which is:

Sounds promising.

Why not ask audrey on the BVRI Scotland/Ireland look ups thread if she can find anything else. Sometimes it turns up births/marriages not on IGI.
