Trying to find a marriage for Captain Douglas Beecham Tyler
« on: Tuesday 14 October 14 22:36 BST (UK) »
Hello I'm hoping someone can help, I am trying to find a marriage record for Captain Douglas Beecham Tyler born 1907 in Spalding Lincolnshire to Grace Lilian ????. Her name is on the war graves register as his wife, children's names on the headstone are Basil and Douglas. His headstone is in Salerno War Cemetery Italy (which I visited 2weeks ago). Death 23rd September 1943.

Parents are Kate Beecham and Joseph Andrew Tyler.

I can not find the children's birth register entries either on Ancestry or Free BMD.

I don't want to put anyone out but if some is able to help that would be great. thank you.

Grace L Pounds.
Married in Guernsey in 1938.
Marriage listed in GRO Index Army Marriages (1881 to 1955)

Douglas' birth registered in 1942, Rugby registration district.

Can't find Basil anywhere.
Possibility 1. He was born before the marriage, but the son of Douglas.
Possibility 2. He was the son of Grace and a first husband, and then when Grace and Douglas married, Douglas adopted him, either formally or informally.
