1881 census look-up request for Aldgate.
« on: Wednesday 15 October 14 19:11 BST (UK) »
Looking for info from 1881 census for HENRY SMITH b1829 (Southminster, Essex), wife MARY ANN SMITH b1827 (London) children Benjamin B1853, Henry b1855, Robert B1856, Mary b1860, William b1862 and Thomas Edward b1865. Last known address 1871 census 12 Worleys Court, St Botolph without Aldgate when Henry Smith snr's occupation was listed as porter. Have checked 1881 address for Worleys Court in electoral registers but they are not listed as living there. I have Henry Smith snr listed in 1887 electoral register as living at 60 Whitechapel Road. I cannot find any trace of either Henry Smith snr or youngest son Thomas Edward Smith. He too seems to disappear from 1871 to 1895. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks.

He was at the Worleys Court address in 1865 when Thomas was baptised.

Thanks Jennifer. Where the family were from 1871 to 1887 is anybody's guess. I will keep looking though.
