Can anyone decipher the story behind this photo?
« on: Thursday 16 October 14 19:27 BST (UK) »
Can anyone take a look at this photo and tell me more. This is Henry Robert Hudd. The photo was taken in Ireland. He had been in France in ww1 but was re-enlisted after being taken ill there. I have no information about his time in Ireland and why he was on a horse. Any information would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi

Was he born c1880 ? If so his records are available on Anc*.

I'm no military expert but it does mention his posting on 7 Jan 1916  as 9th Res(erve) Cav(alry) Reg(iment)

Cavalry ~ horsemen were soldiers or warriors who fought mounted on horseback ... could be the reason he was on horseback.  :)
