I can see that Mary Ann KEWLEY age 19yrs arrived 21 Feb 1860 on the Prince of the Seas with Margaret KEWLEY age 24yrs who appears to be her sister or at least related.

Margaret married in Victoria. Do you have any information on her?

Hi Merlin, I came up empty handed on the Kewley girls from the Assisted British Immigration, I did think if she had a strong accent Mary Ann could sound like Marian, what do you think. My search all began when I wanted to find where my mothers family came from. I didn't get very far. Mum's Grandfather was Archibald (John) Johnstone Born 14 January 1880 Wilcannia ( no birth Records ) Archibald married Annie Amelia Humphries  30th August 1902. He has his parents as Charles Johnstone and mother Mary Wise (once again another maiden name ) This is why I am trying to find out who Archibald mother was..... Mary Ann Kewley /Marian Kewley / Mary Wise and so on. This is a hard one Merlin.

There's also "Charles Albert Johnstone" d. 1933 in Broken Hill, parents Charles and Marian.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/48432487?searchTerm="Charles Albert Johnstone"
 - aged 59 and came to Broken Hill "as a child", native of Wollongong, according to this. (~1874)
And "George Bird Johnstone" d. 1942 in Broken Hill, parents Charles Albert and Marion.
http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/49545189?searchTerm="George Bird Johnstone"
Obituary says he was aged 61 and born in Menindee (~1881)

I am not having much luck finding births for either of these men, can anybody else do better?
There is in "Menindie" a birth for an Alice Boid Johnstone, parents Charles and "Maria", in 1878.
(Interesting: Boid/Bird?).  I cannot figure out what happened to her, though.

From your reply #10 can you describe the person whose origins you are researching -

"...Archibald married Annie Amelia Humphries  30th August 1902".

"......He has his parents as Charles Johnstone and mother Mary Wise "....... Is this information from the marriage certificate?

Can you give all the information on the marriage certificate please.
