I was checking through some open-ended (unfinished) research when this thread popped up & decided it may be worth a post?

I have someone (not fully researched) but I'd love if you could find anything at all on...

John Barker Crooks b 1919 Antrim, Ireland, son of Joseph Gordon Crooks & Lilian Jude (g/aunt)

J B Crooks died 16 Dec 1963 Parkdale, Cheltenham, Victoria, Australia https://billiongraves.com/grave/John-Barker-Crooks/5638998#/

If I have the correct entry (snip below) from Covington, Kentucky, City Directory, 1943...
"Crooks Eliza (Wid J B)..."

I don't know the maiden surname of Eliza/Elizabeth, when/where they married etc.

I'm sort of jumping a dyke or 2 (couldn't resist when I saw this thread) 

If there's not enough info. I'll understand & will do more research on this line!

Hello Annie,

Ros is unlikely to find anything in the NSW State Records Office for John Barker CROOKS as he died in Victoria.  I can't see any records for him in the NSW State Archives

His death is indexed on the Victorian BDM: registration number 835 / 1964. Father - Joseph CROOKS, Mother - Lilian JUDE

I can't see a marriage in Victoria.

I wasn't too hopeful as I could see there was a border issue & not knowing enough at this point, no idea of his movements.

According to Ryerson Index there is a death notice for him in this edition - yes there is!
