Thanks Diddy. No mention of occupation then, and no identifiable witnesses.

Although the fact there are no baptisms in the area is encouraging. There are also no apparent branches of the NEAL tree still living in the Castle Donington area in the 1841 Census.
I guess the next step is to see whether there are any deaths for Richard and Dorothy Neal in the Castle Donington area between 1780 and say 1840. Would anyone have access to those burials?
Would it be possible also to check the names of the witnesses to see if there are baptisms for them in the Castle Donington area? I'll ask on the Derbyshire board if someone could have a look around the Heanor area also.
One possibility is that Richard, a Cordwainer according to his death Certificate, moved to Castle Donington to learn his trade, met Dorothy, married, and returned to Derbyshire for his children to be born shortly thereafter in Morley. How does that sound?
Diddy I'll PM you with my email.
