Burial of Henry Spurgeon between 1793 and 1841
« on: Friday 24 October 14 19:56 BST (UK) »
A long time frame, I know, but the unusual name might help! I was wondering if anyone has access to records that show a burial for a Henry Spurgeon\Spurgeon\Spurgin in Sussex between the baptism of his last child in 1793 and his widow's appearance on the 1841 census in Brighton. Henry was probably from Lewes in Sussex (where he seems to be til 1791/2) and had moved to Croydon in 1792/3. It is not known at what point the family.moved back to Sussex, but I don't believe they stayed in Surrey for long at all. Henry was an ostler by trade, and his wife was named Ruth.
