Records from Wrexham County Borough Council - Inquiries
« on: Wednesday 05 November 14 21:44 GMT (UK) »
Hello!

Has anyone ever ordered records from the Wrexham County Borough Council?

I am interested in a Civil Marriage document from 1847, with the hopes it will provide me with information regarding the bride & groom's parents.

I am also interested in a death record from 1863/64.

I used the website http://www.wrexham.gov.uk/ and located the reference numbers for both records.

Thanks in advance!

They are slightly cheaper if you order them online direct from the GRO.  £9.25 instead of £10

www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Use freebmd to find the marriage and death and that will give you the reference you need (ie) District Volume and page number

Thanks, CaroleW!

The cheaper the better, as the records will need to be sent to the US.  I'm sure the postage will be more than the records!  LOL

If you are ordering on behalf of somebody in the US - they can use the GRO website themselves to order them and they will be sent direct for the same price - no additional postage cost

Just remembered - you can order but nominate them to be sent to a different address.  How short is my memory??  Only last week I ordered a death cert for a friend and had it sent direct to her address  ::)
