Not knowing the country are these possibly the same place with Dumbra being a part of Middleburg. also is it possible to confirm the marriage to obtain Thomasin's maiden name

Not heard of Dumbra - perhaps it's Domburg?

The website to go to is wiewaswie (Who was Who):
https://www.wiewaswie.nl/en/home/

And, if I can be a pedant for a moment, Zeeland is a province within the Netherlands. ;D
There are 2 other provinces called South Holland and North Holland - so only 2 of the 12 provinces are actually Holland!!

Thank you for your post I have tried Who Was Who but the marriage does not show up.

I am aware that Zeeland is in the Netherlands but perhaps am confused as to when this became effective as I am sure in Napoleonic times the country was called the Kingdom of Holland from this I presumed that in mid 18th century it would be called Holland. However I do not wish to upset any Dutch listers by my ignorance and would renew my request for help
Tony.

Zeeland was, from 1581 until 1783, a part of the Dutch Republic—officially known as the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands (Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden), Republic of the United Netherlands, or Republic of the Seven United Provinces (Republiek der Zeven Verenigde Provinciën).

It's a complicated history!! ;D ::)

I have as yet not been able to find out his wife's name however, did come across the following.
In 1721 a Wilhelmus Mondet was a pupil at the school for gymnasium in Middelburg. And on the 2nd of February 1739 in Middelburg a Willem Mondet patented a cotton mill which he had invented.
Does any of this ring a bell?
What are the names of their children and dates born?

In Dutch, gymnasium = school!

From the original Greek, I believe?

In the German-speaking, the Central-European, the Nordic, the Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg) and the Baltic countries, this meaning for "gymnasium", that is a secondary school preparing the student for higher education at a university, has been the same at least since the Protestant Reformation in the 16th century.

The benefit of 16 years living in the Netherlands! ;D ;D

Thank you mygirlbill for the information also KGarrad for clarification. William who married Thomasin was born 1 Oct 1710 so could well be at school in 1721 He was the son of Lodowyck(Lodewijck)  as to a patent for a Cotton mill in 1839 eventually in Ireland in partnership he started a Paper mill so quite possible the same man and he married in 1738 in Middelburg before returning to Ireland In 1745 which all seems to fit. William and Thomasin never had any children although Lodowyck had a further son Abraham abt 1714 and after his first wife died (date unknown) married Thomasin's mother Jane sometime before William and Thomasin married.

Lodewijk Mondet became a member of the Engelse Kerk (English Church) off Middelburg with certification from Dublin Ireland in April 1717.
My search for Thomasin continues.....
