This is marvellous stuff Gogogadgetlegs.  On behalf of the diminishing antipodean Limeburner line, I greatly appreciate your continuing help!

Just a few entries for you from Holy Trinity Baptism and one Burial from St Mary, Sculcoates Parish  records,
Holy Trinity Baptisms,
09/03/1787 Charles son of Charles & Ann Limeburner,
17/02/1785 Charles son of Charles Limeburner, Mariner,
25/08/1768 Theadosia daur of Charles Limeburner
Sculcoates Burial,
12/06/1796, Ann wife of Charles Limeburner, Master Mariner NP
regards,
I will check sculcoates 1532=1775 tomorrow sometime.
gogogadgdetlegs

It does seem that these all belong to our John's brother Charles.   :)

For anyone researching Charles Limeburner (b. 1741 in Hull), with the help of Warncoort, CaroleW and Gogogadgetlegs, this is what I can tell so far:
  • Charles Limeburner marries Docea (Theodosia?) Shepherd in Swine, Yks, in November 1767
  • they have at least two daughters
  • Charles is a mariner at this time, based in Hull; he is mentioned in Old Bailey theft case proceedings in September 1775
  • first wife Docea dies
  • Charles marries Ann Wight in Hull in 1782
  • they have a few more children
  • however, it seems Ann is the subject of the 1796 Sculcoates burial quoted by Gogogadgetlegs above
  • Charles relocates to London from Hull
  • he marries the widowed Mary Jeffreys in Rotherhithe in mid 1799
I can't find a death for Charles, but the occupier on the Rate Assessments at his household in the docklands changes to Mary Limeburner from 1801.

Hopefully that's of use to someone else sometime!

And hopefully before long we will be able to piece together a similar story for Charles and John LIMEBURNER's father Matthew and mother Mary GIBSON!!!

All the very very best, Gogogadgetlegs, and thanks so much once again  :)

Dear All Limeburner searchers (a small number as already noted!).  Just to say that I believe I have a link in to this line also.  My ancestor is Benjamin Limeburner born 1785 in Cheshire.  I'm pretty sure he is a son of Matthew Limeburner referred to here from Hull.  I have yet however to definitively prove this as Benjamin's birth certificate is unclear on this.  I can share some further information if there is an interest but a quick check of Family Search will show you the Cheshire Limeburners who were clustered around Macclesfield and Congleton.  It is also unclear how/why Matthew moved to Cheshire but I guess we could say the same of Charles' move to London. All the best, Ciara

Hello Everybody!  I am a descendant of Charles Limeburner born in 1787 in Hull, as far as I can tell, his parents were Charles Limeburner (born 1741) and Ann Wight.
