Mary Danner - Nice, France

Hi
I have found an obituary of an ancestor from Pennsylvania, USA - 22 June 1936.

It states that his sister survives him and her name is Mrs Mary Danner residing in Nice, France.

She was born Mary Scorer in Pennsylvania in 1870.

I have found a marriage of a Mary Scorer in PA 1898 to a John Laughlin but I'm not sure if this is her.

I can't find her after this.

Can anybody find any information on her.

This could be her, leaving the UK. She's a US citizen - her last known address is listed as "in transit from France"

She also comes in to Ellis Island in 1921 - defniitely her as she's visiting her brother A Scorer in Wooster, Mass

husband is given as Danner, Villa Fabert, 7 Rue Pujet, Nice

Mary Scorer Danner died 25 Jan 1952 at 9 Rue de Rivoli, Nice. Her address is given as 2919 Accomac St, St Louis, Missouri. She's stated to be a widow. This if from the Enland and Wales probate registry - probate is granted in London to a bank. Estate in England £6583 19s 7d.

On the 1921 entry at Ellis Island her nationality is English, and she appears to have property here. I wonder if Mr Danner was english?

have also found her travelling back to the US in 1930, 1935 and 1947 (yes it was her on the Queen Elizabeth). She's a widow by 1947 - and the address for her US residence is that of her sister Mrs Jones, who she is visiting in 1947

Her sister Margaret Scorer (married to Athel David Jones) lived at that address in St Louis.

She died in 1953.

Athel david Jones was mentioned in the probate register - i thought he was a bank official!

think I have found her returning to the US in 1912 - b Mallapau, Mass?  this time she is travelling from Bremen. In one of the other entries she is noted as being able to speak German.

Still no sign of Mr Danner!
