Garsonite..You have the right family. Funny that they can't be located on the 1901 census. I've searched under the children's names, Edith, Thomas, Julia but nothing. Too weird.

Thanks for any help

Thanks for this. Unfortunately, and for some strange reason, Ancestry Records do not show this result. He was a french polisher, so that helps track him, but where are the rest of the family.

Thanks again.

I'm not so sure that this is your Michael as in 1891 and 1911 your one says he is born Liverpool, not Ireland.

I am not an expert at searching ancestry but possibly spelling Michael correctly may help

According to the 1891 census the Michael Durkin your searching for was born c1869.
The Michael Durkin 1901 census record has him as born c1847 and a widower.

But where are Thomas (1894), Edith (1897), Julia (1892), Frances Ellen (1885), Annie (1891), Mary Catherine (1899). I mean, these are a lot of people to have simply disappeared.

I would guess that either the name has been very badly transcribed or they were simply missed off the cenus for some reason. They were obviously around, as there was another child, Agnes, born in 1902 in Liverpool. It might be worth getting her certificate and seeing what address is given on that.
