hi all. im doing a little research into family. found out that james H bumstead served in the canadian expeditionary force. he enlisted in 1918. he moved to ottawa at that time. he lived at 68 lewis st. he had brothers roland, leonard,leopold,charles,kenneth and sister eileen and floramel he lived at 205 chepstow road newport. anyone on here with any info on where the family went after this time would be wonderful thank you

forgot to say parents names were charles blomfield bumstead and mother was elizabeth. james was born in oldham lancashire

From Liverpool UK 29th March 1930 to Halifax Nova Scotia Canada 8th April 1930

BUMSTEAD Kenneth B aged 23 Single Born Newport Clerk going to brother B.N. BUMSTEAD 25 Lakebreeze Avenue Strathmore.  Father = Charles B. BUMSTEAD Hillside Llantarnam near Newport.

There is a marriage in Quebec Pointe-Claire United Church between Kenneth Blomfield BUMSTEAD, Clerk of the City of Montreal in the Province of Quebec, a bachelor of legal age, son of the late Charles Blomfield BUMSTEAD and Elizabeth Hannah his wife to Marjorie Irene MALKIN of Strathmore in the Town of Dorval county of Jaques C?? Provence of Quebec as Spinster of legal age, daughter of Richard MALKIN and Mary Stackhouse his wife were married 8th June 1935. One of the witnesses was C.B. BUMSTEAD.

If you check the 1891 Census for Wales you will see a couple of other children for Charles and Elizabeth.

Kenneth and Marjory appear in various City Directories - Lachine Montreal  1968 - 50 th Avenue. Kenneth Bumstead - Purch Agent - Marjory Bumstead and Kathleen Bumstead - Steno.

wow wow . i have managed to find out quite a bit about charles b and elizabeth's children how many they had and where they lived but was trying to find out about the one or ones that went to canada.
