Carol

This is an old one which should have been resolved!

Give us the details of the 1871 census and where they are as well as all family members and their ages...........

And their is no reason why they can't be found in 1841 as well

No Michael Angell's (or variants) in 24 Counties I can see! which doesn't mean his name is not Michael........it does mean that it isn't Angell (incl variants)

I will have a look at William's.......going to be a few!

update............98 of them! William's that is

Narrowed it down a bit using aged 15-35 as the first child (James) wasn't born to 1849 ish
Poplar where James was born is in the east end, so one would expect the parents to be in the vicinty somewhere? but probably didn't get married until 1844-1849 if James was the first born?

came up with this one..........right or wrong?

1841
CHAPMAN STREET, ST GEORGE EAST, TOWER HAMLETS, MIDDLESEX
WILLIAM ANGELL  30                 N (NOT BORN IN COUNTY)

Their are 5 others within Middlesex that meet the criteria but of the others ....3 are spelt Angel and not in the area and the other two are in Fulham and Marylebone and are aged 15 and 16.......not impossible by a long stretch, but they are not in the east end!

On lds i found Baptiesd on same day same church15/11/1846 St Dunstans Stepney.
James, Richard and Martha I beleive Richard's the Eldest b. 1842.
Father William, Mother Sarah.
Also Marraige for William Angell and Sahah Powell in St Dunstans Stepney in 1846.
I thinthought this may be them.
I then found what i think is James b.c. that says b. 05/05/1846 Poplar.Father William Angel Mother Sarah Powell formerly Dean.
Further reseach suggests she was married before to Moses Powell.
I then found what i beleived was m.c for James age 21 and Mary Ann Shepherd.age 18 dec 25th 1865.St Michaels and All Angels parish church, can't read parish but Middx.
That has Fathers name as Michael Angel?
Is this the same person? they do seem to have called them selves whatever they felt like, making family history harder.!
Please note at this point Angell was spelt with 1 L I think James added a further L at some point as on census it's spelt with 2 L's
Whether these are the right ones i do not know.
Regards Carol

Casalguidi

The difficult to read female in 1851 aged 12.............could it possibly be Carolin?............always easier to read when a name is in mind!

Sarah's have an attachment to a second name of Ann (so do Mary's!).......Sarah Ann, their is this family.........lot of ifs & maybe but looking at them all.........best fit

1841
BRUNSWICK STREET, GLOBE YARD, ALL SAINTS POPLAR, TOWER HAMLETS, MIDDLESEX
ANN POWELL  25            YES
ANN      "          5             YES
WILLIAM "        3             YES
