Looking at this again I think John was having a bad day when he filled out the census form in 1911

If you look at the 1901 cenus you have

John W Rhodes 31 head b W Brom
Elizabeth Rhodes 32 wife b Netherton
Emelia E Rhodes 9 dau b W Brom
John W Rhodes 7 son b W Brom
Arthur E Rhodes 4 son b W Brom
Annie Rhodes 2 dau b W Brom
Edward Foster 62 father in law b Coventry labourer in iron foundry
Alfred Foster 19 brother in law b W Brom
Samuel Foster 16 brother in law b W Brom Holloware worker (casting saucepans)

RG13/2722/121/8

I think Edward Foster is Elijah Fisher and Samuel Foster is Sam Fisher in the 1911

It's really messy isn't it  :-\

There's an Edward Foster father Edward
Jane Evans father Evan
marriage 11 April 1870 Ettingshall Stafford

Probably not as they are having children baptised in Ettingshall 1871-1872 William and Edward.

Enoch died 1873 which would fit Clara was baptised 14.4.1873 St Andrews Netherton (Also an Annie baptised the same date)

Enoch buried 29.10.1873 St John Wednesbury (as he was a coal miner he might have died in an accident and been buried in the nearby church)

Maybe Edward and Jane never made it to the church on time?

Mind you if Edward could make up his mind where he was born it would make the job easier

1871 - b 1845 Kenilworth, Warwickshire
1881 - b 1852 Bradford, Yorkshire
1891 - b 1841 West Bromwich, Staffordshire
1901 - b 1839 Coventry, Wariwckshire
1911 - b 1838 Norham, Herefordshire

There is the burial of a Jane Cornwell aged 43 19.2.1887 at All Saints West Bromwich which might be Elizabeths mother

Yes it's quite a range of places isn't it and birth years  :-\

Still can't quite work out why he was Elijah Fisher at one point!

If you look at the actual writing on the 1911 census it could be Foster not Fisher

I havent the foggiest where the Elijah bit comes from John and Elizabeths child Elijah aged 1 isnt registered on the BMD so it could be he is actually called Edward too  ???
