Hi, from Newcastle, Australia,

Just new to RootsChat and family research.
My great, great grandfather Patrick Heron Henderson was born 30th July,1822 at Kirkgungeon , Kirkudbright.  His mother's name was Agnes.
Not sure of father's name.

He married  in Australia , to Maria Chappell Moreton (a descendant of the brother of Francis Drake).  Patrick was a Gov't surveyor in the northern tablelands area of New South Wales.  Patrick died 24.8.1894 at Glen Innes (NSW).

Maybe your Agnes Henderson  is related.

Regards,
Carolyn

I would be interested to know if you have an Elizabeth McBurnie in your family?  I don't know if this will be of any use to you, but one never knows!

Hi Tom

My mother's family name was McBurnie, they owned farms in Dunscore and Irongray, but I'm having problems tracing before about 1800.  None of the names you listed however ring any bells.  I have a James McBurnie born in 1836 who married Sarah Spence in 1861

Cheers
Mags
