Wardle/Bladon connection to Sir Thomas Wardle?
« on: Tuesday 09 December 14 16:02 GMT (UK) »
I keep coming back to this lose end on my Bladon tree and have reached the stage now where I require help!

Ellen Bladon married Joshua Wardle in 1776 at Uttoxeter.  They had 2 children baptised there Joseph in Dec 1776 and Charlotte 1779.  After which no trace.

According to 'The Wardle story' a biography about Sir Thomas Wardle the silk dying industry his father Joshua b1802 founded, Joseph Wardle was his grandfather.  This Joseph was born 1777 and died in 1832 in Macclesfield having moved from Ipstones after Joshua was born.

So I am trying to prove/disprove that the Joseph born 1777 and father of Joshua b1802 is the son of Joshua and Ellen.

I attach an image of the 2 marriages of Joshua - to Ellen Bladon and Nancy Allen.  The signatures look similar to me

Any help appreciated
