Sorry one more question. Any way for me to find out where James was buried? If it is the same as Catherine it may confirm a link. Don't think it has that info on his death certificate in my dropbox.

Thanks

I'd guess the only way to prove where he was buried would be to look again for his burial in the Catholic records.  Ooops just searched without viewing and yes he was also buried in St Peter's Dalbeth.

Thank you fifer, how did you find this out as its not on his death cert?

Its definitely her now as with your discovery and the dates it all adds up:

Catherines birth from here in her family record is 16 Feb 1866:

https://familysearch.org/search/record/results#count=75&query=%2Bgivenname%3AMary~%20%2Bsurname%3ATaig~%20%2Bspouse_surname%3AKennedy%20%2Brecord_country%3AScotland

Here death is down as 19 Mar 1867 and in the death record it says (although hard to decipher) 13 months old which is the difference between the two.

Mystery solved.

Scotlandspeople > Catholic Registers >Deaths and Burials>check an 1874 death for James Kennedy >aged 0-2 gets 1 result, check against Glasgow St Peter's Dalbeth and that's correct.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

By the way I'm travelling home to the news my wife told me that my ancestors poor relief application has arrived in the post. Which is for Patrick Kennedy who is the parent of the kids discussed in this thread. I'll post anything juicy I find in a new thread maybe. Being Irish I'm keen to see where in Ireland he is from as well as parents names if given. My wife says the mail is quite thin though so may not be much...

There's a site listing grave inscriptions for St Peter's Dalbeth mostly modern but there is one for a Kennedy family. Michael Kennedy born 1912 wondered if he was related? http://billiongraves.com/pages/record/Mary-Kennedy/10615332 click on the pic to enlarge

Gosh been away all day and just catching up. Great to see it all develop through with the help of RC's Inspector Clouseau aka Sherlock 8)

I did wonder siouxchief (as we always do  ::)) if you were male or female with the mention of a lovely 10 week old bundle of joy. Respect if you were female, keeping two thoughts together at this time  :D Understandable that you are male  ;)

There is a lot of material on Dalbeth here on RC. RC burials in Scotland are very specific in many areas. All of my Lanarkshire side, including up to my father, are in the cemetery. For the 20th Century burials (maybe a tad earlier?!), this is the additonal land of St Peter's Cemetery, next to Old Dalbeth.

You can use the search box to find the posts, or also look here www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=510660.msg3669348#msg3669348

One post that you can also check with a brilliant detail by Gerry Farrell and Davie and photos & maps is here www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=324578.0

Sorry, long day for me today...have we actually sourced the statutory death for little Catherine?
