Thanks Karenlee.

I see in the marriage of William Garner & Elizabeth Cockerill in 1851 that his father was stated as Thomas Garner.  Am I right that Thomas’s occupation was given as “gardener”?  I wonder if that is what led to the family later adopting the name Gardner!

Is the Parish Church Leamington Priors (where William Garner & Elizabeth Cockerill married in 1851) the church now known as All Saints Parish Church, Leamington Spa?

What a roller coaster few years William had.  In 1848, Rebecca, his wife of 18 years, died at the age of 42.  In Jan 1851 he married Elizabeth Cockerill, then circa November that same year he died at the age of 45.

I notice you refer to the burial of Sophia Garner on 09 Oct 1839 “… aged weeks…”.  Does it say exactly how many weeks old she was?

Can you tell me please if you know if images of any of these baptisms, marriages & burials are available online (& if yes, where) or, if not, where they can be viewed?  I'd like to get copies of them if they're available.

Look forward to hearing.

In respect of the marriage of William Garner to Elizabeth Cock(e)rill, I've noticed that FamilySearch has two marriages listed for them - on 06 Jan 1851 at All Saints, Leamington (the one mentioned above, ref https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XXYG-JSL) & circa 10 weeks earlier on 20 Oct 1850 also at All Saints, Leamington (ref https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:N62H-1JS).

Does anyone have any idea why there appear to be two separate marriages of the same people?  Also, is the spelling of her surname in these registers Cockrill rather than Cockerill?

Look forward to hearing from anyone.

1850 is the Banns.  As for the spelling, the handwriting is not the best.

Only a possible, since there is no occupation given for the father. Baginton in only a few miles from Willenhall which is his birthplace n 1851 and his first daughter was Elizabeth.

Baptism Register
Baginton
Warwickshire

William son of Thomas and Elizabeth GARNER baptised 12th April 1807.

Thanks for those pointers Karenlee.

I'll have a think about those.  It would be good to establish the next generation back from William Garner (born c1806, Willenhall, Warwickshire).

In respect of Rebecca Riley (born c 1806, Warwickshire) who married William Garner (born c 1806, Willenhall, Warwickshire) 14 Jun 1830 at St Philip, Birmingham, I've noticed two christenings of Rebecca Rileys:
* 20 Oct 1806 at Stoke, Warwick (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NP9C-BXC) &
* 13 Jul 1807 at Dunchurch, Warwick (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NP96-HVX).

Could someone tell me please the details from the parish baptism registers for each, including parents names, occupation & abode.

Thanks very much.
