This is a Sugar cane plantation in Queensland, possibly Bundaberg area.  c1895  Can anything be done to improve the contrast/tone?  Thanks guys. :-)

Thanks so much Carolne. The first one is brill :-). I actually stumbled across some colour tinted photos on an Australian website that had a photo of what look like this exact place, in fact I'm pretty sure the photos were taken the same day, which is perhaps why he sent this photo home to his family in Scotland.  Must try and attach a link to the other photo I saw. :-)

Just as a point of interest, Bundaberg is 4.30 hours drive from me.   

You won't catch me in the sugar cane fields though...full of snakes!

Wow, fancy that :-O.  Its rather a long link but I'm pretty sure this was taken the same time, I just cant decide which man in the photo is him.  Would explain why he had his photo taken that day.  Pretty sure it must have been W. Blaikie who took it.  This is the link.
