There is also a Probate for Christina McKay Mounsey held at Wellington.  Not sure if it is on the Family Search site .... there is always someone that will go to Archives on your behalf to photograph it.

Thanks to you all. I'll have a good read and follow up the links  :)

I've now found that two of my Margaret's brothers went to Victoria in 1863 so have to chase them up as well.  Think I'll have to start a thread on the Australian board soon!

Also  1862: Sinclair George to Catherine Munro, Victoria

There is a death in 1933, no age recorded for a Sinclair Munro George .... their son?  Buried at Alfredton (possible it is in the Wairarapa), where George and Catherine are.  There is also a Probate for him .... the court being Masterton.

Hi there,

William McKay George (not Mackay) was brother to Sinclair McKay George (my 2nd Great Grandfather), his son Sinclair Munro George passed at the age of 60 in 1933. A number are buried in the George Family plot in Alfredton Cemetery however a number are also buried at the
Terrace End Cemetery in Palmerston North. This includes Donald McKay (Sinclair McKay's brother) and his family Donald owned DM George (Drapier & Clothier) in Palmerston North, see photo which was passed down onto his son Wilberforce Alfred George. William McKay married Mary Campbel George formerly Burgess in 1864 in Victoria, Australia before moving to New Zealand (they had no children).

Hope this helps. Here's our WikiTree link (feel free to contribute) https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/George-13899 :)

Hi

Thanks for replying to this thread. It was completed a long time ago and it was a distant ousin that I was investigating.

William McKay/Mackay George was married to Margaret  (not Mary) Campbell Burgess. She was the granddaughter of my 4 x great grandparents' son.  (see attached)

No children were born to the marriage and Margaret returned to Scotland and died there on 18th April !898 and buried in Liverpool on 22 April 1898.
