Gedcom files on Symbian phones?
« on: Monday 04 July 05 02:06 BST (UK) »
Hi

I was just wondering if anyone has ever come across any software that can be used to store and view Gedcom files on a Symbian mobile phone. I've just taken a small step up in the technology world and have a phone that can store Word and Excel files, so bits and pieces of data can be stored, but it would be nice to have the entire Gedcom available when I visit libraries or research centres.

I know theres a program for Palm OS phones (Gedwise I think), but I haven't found anything for other mobile platforms, especially for my Sony Ericsson P800

Freeware would be best if anyone know any, but shareware could be useful to try.

Thanks

There has been a bit of discussion about this on some of the forums recently ..... it seems there is no elegant solution.

One possible solution that was mentioned was to have the information running in phpgedview on a website and access this website from the phone
