Hi Gadget - I'm completely new here. However, I stumbled across your post (via Google) trying to find some details about an Adam Burgess who lived in Mansfield, Victoria, Australia for a period.
Mr Burgess is considered to be the founder of the local paper here - The "Mansfield Courier" (which appears to also have been known as the "Woods Point Leader"). I work for the local Council here and am researching Mr Burgess as a request has been made to name a laneway with his name - the laneway is behind the original location of the Courier offices. I think this may fit with the Adam Burgess who was the proprietor of the Courier here.
