I keep looking for you on my visits to the library.

I have found the following which may well be of interest.

Cleethorpes cemetery.  Ellie Selina Williams, 2 months of age.   died 24.12.1902 and buried on 27.12.1902.    Daughter of Bridget and Richard Williams.   Address 142 Barcroft Street, Cleethorpes.
On my next visit I will see if they have any electoral rolls for this period.

Thanks for finding that cemetery record for baby Ellie. That was a surprise.  If you can possibly trace them on the electoral register that would be very helpful.

regards

I have had a look at the electoral roll for Cleethorpes without success.   However the 1905/1906 Grimsby/Cleethorpes directory lists Richard Williams at 142 Barcroft Street, Cleethorpes, working as an engineer.   The 1910/1911 directory lists Richard Williams at 39 Clerke Street, Cleethorpes, and working as a chief engineer.      These titles suggest he was working the trawlers out of Grimsby.  I have checked the online list of seamen held at the Grimsby Archives.     Many Williams but no Richard Williams as an engineer.       Next time I am at the archives I will make further enquiries as they have extensive lists which might not be on line.    Have you any information which might assist with any further search in the Grimsby/Cleethorpes records.

Unfortunately I have hardly any information on Richard Williams. He had 6 children, five born in New Ross Wexford ireland. The sixth child was born in 1902 at 142 Barcroft Street Cleethorpes.

I have been unable to find him on the 1901 or 1911 census. wife Bridget was living at Bewley Street New Ross in 1901 and in the 1911 census she was shown at 97 Brereton Avenue Grimsby and 39 Clerk St New Cleethorpes.

Bridget died in 1941 at 25 Humber Street Cleethorpes and husband Richard registered her death.

Not sure if any of that information will help but I am very grateful for your time and effort

If you know of any records I can search myself online can you give me any links?

I will check 97 Brereton Avenue, next time.   I do not know any other records on line which may be of help.

I have been to the N E Lincs archives today.     The only R. Williams who is a likely candidate, is aged about 30 years, born Manchester.     He was aged 30 years in 1901.      Unfortunately there was no address given and his wages were paid to the Port mission.      I have tried the electoral rolls without any success.     There four volumes of fishermen in the local library, but no Richard Williams is listed.    Unless I fall across any further information whilst looking for my own records, I would appear to be at an end at the moment.

You do not say which records you found Richard Williams born Manchester and age 30 in 1901.

On Elsie Selina's death certificate in 1902, her father Richard was shown as Marine Engineer so if you are looking at Fisherman's records then he may not be on those. Do you know if there is another list for Marine Engineers?

Once again thank you for the time and trouble you are taking in trying to help locate details of Richard Williams it is much appreciated.

The records I was looking at was the fishermans records.    I do not believe they have any marine records locally.   Those records are held at the national Archives and National maritime museum.
Have you the children's names as they might have been living locally.
