Merchant Ship Crew
« on: Sunday 11 January 15 05:12 GMT (UK) »
Where am I likely to find records for the above......please.
I found a death notice for my great-great-grandmother (Daylesford newspaper), she died in 1901. There is a reference to one of her sons, he was on a Merchant ship trading between New Zealand and Australia.
I have been able to trace all of her children, except this one.  His name was Charles Brown born 1870 Daylesford, Victoria.
He does not appear on any Victorian records - no marriage, death or Electoral Rolls
Any help appreciated.

Cando,
You are great thanks for this.  I have been searching on and off for years for Charles Brown.
Hopefully I will now find where he finished up.
Will have to wait until tomorrow now.  I have to go out now.

Many thanks.

Just to let you all know - in case you were going to try and find Charles Brown for me.

I have found his death - I missed it :-[.  He died age 37 years in 1908 (Vic - Ref No:10550)
He never married or had issue.

Cando- I'm grateful for what you did find on him.

I am thinking you may be talking about my great grandfather, his son, my grandfather was also named charles brown and then to confuse things more they named one of their sons charles.  If you research charles brown and margaret mary bayer...warkworth, new zealand...you may find it is the same family,

Hi Karen, Welcome to Rootschat.
I don't think my Charles Brown is connected to your Charles Brown and Margaret Mary Bayer.
I'll send you a Private Message (PM), with some details of my Charles Brown's family history.
Cheers..
