Margaret John Thomas Owens brn Hirnant in 1800
« on: Tuesday 13 January 15 19:30 GMT (UK) »
She was baptised as Margaret John Thomas Owens with mother Elizabeth
Would I be correct in assuming that this is fairly late Patrynomics  :) :) :) :) :) :)??
then her father was John
grandfather was Thomas
and grt grandfather was Owen?

There wasn't a separate name listed on the baptism (trans only available) for the father
When she married she went as just "owens"
Diolch:)

I think you may need to see the original, the transcript is dubious.  The last three names are listed as surname for Margaret and her fathers surname is listed the same and no first name given for him. I wonder if it is just that the clergy has filled the names wrongly.

Hi Rosie! Sorry completely my fault (as usual hehe)

I had seen the image for the baptism for of 1799..
But then a transcription with the same names for 1800

So I had assumed that there were two children and the earlier had died...
That was not the case...
The 1799 baptism is the same as the 1800 baptism...

as it isn't very clear whether very late in 1799 she was baptised or early in 1800,,

there isn't a clear date for the baptism although a few baptisms before hers was one dated December the 24th
Hirnant being sparsely populated I assume that there were not very many baptisms....

Scrap that^^^^

I have just seen very sparsley written in....
baptised March 18(?) 1800!

There we go great,

The actual image reads as

"Margaret daughter of John Thomas Owens & Elizabethe his wife of this parish was baptised March 18 1800"

I am pleased that you sorted this one out.  Not really your fault as the transcript is wrong.  :)
