What regiment ?
« on: Tuesday 20 January 15 11:32 GMT (UK) »
This is Henry George Parsons, b 1879 @ Weston Super Mare. He was living in Bristol when he joined up in WW1. The picture is obviously a studio setting and is a copy. I do not have the original. Is it possible to identify the regiment?
Thank you

Looks to me like the Army Cyclist Corps.

Hi, I have to agree, Army Cyclist Corps.
Can you make out what letters are on the shoulder titles?

Thank you for your suggestions. However I remain to be convinced as the badge in Henry's photo has a straight bar at the base whereas the badge in Genechaser's picture has 3 separate bars. Are there any other possibilities?
Thanks

Upon enlarging the photo, it does look to be more solid in the center, not convinced with Guards Machine Gun Corps,  :-\ But as Ken rightly say's they are similar in design.

I'm pretty sure it's Cyclist Corps. The scrolls to left and right go up at around 45 degrees. The "straight bar" is the middle scroll.

Good evening,

I think it's possibly the Dorset Yeomanry.

Also similar are the City of London Sharpshooters and City of London Yeomanry.
