Francis & Elizabeth Eaton had 4 sons bpt 1768, 1773, 1777 & 1782
... I wonder if there's a bastardy document in the Poor Law at NRO

Thanks Bryan (once again!). I know that Hester Eaton Allen had a son Joseph Allen bapt 1832 Twywell. Don't know if this helps of not with the Eaton families you mentioned?

Yes, Joseph Eaton s/o John & Martha bpt 1774 Mar 25, possibly Hestor's father (based only upon the naming of her child).


Been trying to find Mary Allen ...

Thomas Hawkin of Orlingbury married Mary Allen 1819 Sep 28 at Twywell
Thomas Hawkins of Orlingbury aged 78 buried 1835 May 15 at Orlingbury

... and this fits with the 1871 census previously mentioned ...

Living with them is Mary Hankine age 83, wife mother (mother-in-law).

(I think it reads Hawkins)
