« on: Monday 04 July 05 18:05 BST (UK) »
I am interested in the Dease family and has traced to Edward Dease who was in the 1821 Census for Kilsarn. He is dead by 1842. I am trying to find out how he is related to the Deases of Westmeath. I there anyway of tracing his parents?

Hello MaryEllen,

There's no easy way to trace Edward's parents and link the Westmeath family to the Cavan family. If you know the faith of your Dease ancestors you could look at Church records.

There are ten listings for Dease on the Valuations for Cavan which took place in 1856-7 but I'm not certain how many people were involved ... James is obviously one but Gerald is mentioned nine times. There are five listings for Dease in Westmeath where the Valuation took place in 1854. One for Margaret and four for Gerald. It looks as though there may be a link between the families going by the Christian names.
