I had been chasing Elizabeth through the census thinking she may stay as a single woman , but in those days its a near impossibility.

I will next concentrate on marriages pre-1841 and after 1827

Thanks for your input once again  :)

Just to give some ideas for those who wish to help  :)

The naming patterns that John and Louisa followed when naming their children is interesting.

The first male was called William and apart from Johns brother being called William I don't have any strong idea why. Johns father is Richard and Mariah (Gill) Clayfield father is John.

Jane is the next child - first female died as an infant

Followed by Albert then John who both died as infants

*****^^^^^^^^********  All born in Gloucestershire

Arrived in Australia 11 Oct 1858 on the Bee sailed from Liverpool - The following emigrants are sent out on remittance ??

Maria - obviously for mother - who married my GG Grandfather

John again

Martha who is Marias mother

Louisa after Louisa Westm*****

Elizabeth is next ...maybe after the Elizabeth above

Finally we get to a  Richard who dies as an infant

Elija Richard

Albert Leonard

And last but not least Johanna Matilda Alice Ann Clayfield when Louisa was either 45 ( marriage document) or 48 if we accept she was born in Ashley in 1827

Hopefully that gives some clues which way to go.

Ann could be a reference to Johns sister

I'm actually quite excited and possibly confused. Not sure how to interpret this but its got me buzzing and would appreciate some feedback

I have mentioned I received a marriage certificate stating both couples were 'aged' 21 - assuming a birth date of 1830. This along with the following death notice seemed to indicate a date around 1829-30

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/77543184?

Broadening my search terms and including more variants and using FindMyPast I have a transcript of a Louisa Westmacot born 1823 but baptised on 28/10/1832 in St Marleybone London

What has me buzzing is the listed names for her parents are William and Jane. The names of (my Louisa and Johns ) first 2 children.

Why , if she knew her fathers name, (actually I will check that next) would there be no record on the marriage cert?

Am I right to be hopeful or do I need to check other sources , and if so which ones?

Thank you in advance  :)

Its embarrassing looking back nearly 7 years on how I structured this query!!

A possible from 1841?
Class: HO107; Piece: 374; Book: 2; Folio: 6; Page: 7
Cumberland Street, St Pauls, Bristol

Westacott, Elizabeth  F  32  L of Houses(?)
Westacott, Louisa  F  11
Westacott, Michael  M  10
Westacott, Charles  M  9

I have finally been able to rule this one out.

Elizabeth married a Michael Westacott in 1823

3 (found) children are
Harriet Louisa 1828
Michael 1829
Charles Bragg 1833

Father Michael died 1833 and was a Chemist/Druggist

Charles Bragg Westacott died 1843 as did Harriet Louisa

It seems the Ashley one is more and more likely but more searching to go
