I am not familiar with Scottish records.    There is an Inverness in New South Wales,  :)

Annie Campbell was born 16 August 1939 in Salen by Tobermory Argyll. As noted on the marriage
certificate her parents were Lachlan Campbell and Christine Patterson.

An old post on R'chat has this information re a query as to the meaning of "NB"
North Britain.  It is an old term for Scotland, used in the 18th and occasionally 19th centuries.

So it appears that Annie was indeed born in Scotland. Thank you everybody. Tobermory, Argyll. I'll look up the map.

Now if we could just find where her daughter, my grandmother, was born. As previously advised, her birth is not registered in either New South Wales or Victoria.

Again, thank you everybody for your help.  What a wonderful site. :)

It's really sad - I want to think well of Sween and I know we don't know the circumstances but by this stage Annie's only daughter was in Victoria so she was alone in the outback of NSW at Christmas. Thank you for your interest.

The clipping was quite easy following Ros's instructions.  Good luck when you try it.
