I'm trying to track Edward G Downes-Martin, 1909-1936. Basically I'm trying to see if either of his parents were born in Ireland. I know there were family links to Tipperary and Shrigley.

Does anyone know? I think the father was born in Canada.

Regards

Ciaran

This looks to be his mother

There are lots of newspaper references to her theatrical appearances

Here is Edward’s grandfather’s marriage in Canada. He is b Ireland.

His father, as already stated was born in Canada.
His mother shows as born in England, although I haven’t found her birth. There is a baptism transcription though.
Published trees show Rose Lily’s mother as Eliza Kinmonth b Cork.

If that is correct, he would have two grandparents born in Ireland but not a parent.
