Anyone researching Thomas Rippett bc1776/81 Ireland, possibly married Catherine, children seem to be bp Manchester. Thomas on the 1871 census age 92yrs. Some other names seem to be Rosenbaum, Lomas and Neild. New family to search but seem to be going round in circles. May have knocked down part of a long standing brick wall.
Any help or pointers welcome.

Just starting to go through all the help you sent, will reply one by one. This census did throw me. For some reason I had the transcript which has an error, Mary Ann is given as Mary Ann LOMAS. On the image it is as you gave. I had found a possible marriage for the parents of Margaret Lomas, being James Lomas and Jane Rippett. (Will contact FindMyPast about the error). Which would have made Mary Ann born before the marriage. This helped to break down one brick wall.
