George TURNER, born 08/12/1842, London
« on: Sunday 08 February 15 20:34 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

This may be a complete enigma.

George TURNER was born on 08/12/1842 in London, parents unknown, and in 1855/56 he was apparently helped to migrate by the Royal Philanthropic Society to Grahamstown aboard the Skimmer of the Waves.   The records do not designate which Grahamstown, except there are two, one in NZ and the other South Africa.   I have searched religiously for the Skimmer of the Waves but can only find a fleeting reference in the 1870's on the NZ side.

Please accept my apologies for the lack of information but if anyone can help I would be eternally grateful.

For the moment,

BAC3
