I had noticed this entry but there has to be an error somewhere.   Amelia GYATT's birth date is given as 1849 which would make her 12 when she married Henry GYATT!!!

Don't forget that the age on the death registration is only as good as the information given by the person who registered. So perhaps if she had left Henry, or he'd left her no-one knew her real age. I can't find that Amelia in the 1891 cenus, unless she was living with someone and is listed under their name.

Maria is a new name, it seemed that Caroline may have been the mother, although I have no proof of the latter.   I think he was born about 1840/41/42 and am reluctant to go back 4 years to 1836 when all other details favour the threesome!!

It is all very confusing........Henry GYATT married Caroline FOORD at Stoke next Guildford on 23/11/1839!!!

I think I shall leave the confusion behind me, born 1836 or 1840/1841/1842, and try to make sense of all the information you have kindly fossicked for me from 1851 onwards.  I am sure it is going to be problematic enough to welcome the darkened room!!
