Gravesend Marriage Look Up for 1906 if possible please.
« on: Thursday 12 February 15 21:15 GMT (UK) »
I haven`t posted on the Kent forums before so I am hoping I may have similar success with very limited information that I have been fortunate enough to have achieved on other forums  :)

I would like to find out more information about the 1906 December quarter marriage of Charles Sharp and Gertrude Knight in Gravesend.

I could order a duplicate certificate but unfortunately I do not have enough information to warrant ordering one  :(. The only information I have is the marriage detail above and these are from a process of elimination of ages, names and location.

Many sincere thanks in advance for all offers of help and assistance.  ;D

Have you looked for the couple on 1911 census? You might find some useful information......birthplace/age/occupation should all be noted.

The Gravesend area falls under the jurisdiction of Rochester so the parish registers are available on Medway CityArk. They are not indexed and have to be searched as you would a hard copy of the register, but I have found the entry you are after; http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/query/results/?Mode=ShowImg&Img=/cityark/Scans/Ecclesiastical_Rochester_Archdeaconry_Area_Parishes/P159B_GRAVESEND_ST_JAMES_1851_1971/01_Incumbent_Service_Registers_1852_1968/P159B_01_11.html/00000506.jpg

Excuse the long link. The site with all the churches covered can be entered from here; http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/query/results/?Mode=Search&PathList=%2FZ4a_Medway_Ancestors%2F%0A&SearchWords=&DateList=
