Can anyone give me their best guess of the 1st name of the witness in this marriage in Newcastle.. last name Gibson.

Not sure if is a shortened form of Andrew or Archibald

me too. looks like standard abbreviation for Andrew.  'And' are clearly the first 3 letters.

Thank you all.  I thought I would get more eyes on this....Andrew it is then...now to find what relationship he is to the groom.
No parents for Archibald and so far can find no siblings either in Roxburgh or surrounding areas  (previous post on Scotland)
