I was wondering if I could get confirmation that:

James Peck was baptised in 1800 at St Peter, Stutton, Suffolk (Deanery of Samford).
Joseph Peck was baptised in 1798 at St Peter, Stutton, Suffolk (Deanery of Samford).
Parents called Joseph & Rachael.

Any other info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Suffolk Marriage Index has Joseph Peck of Tattingstone marrying Rachel Askoe on 18 Nov 1783 at Stutton.

Hi Jo,
Does the Baptism info I provided for James & Joseph check out correctly?
Thanks.

Baptisms for Stutton, Suffolk do not appear to be available online - records held at Suffolk Record Office from what I can see.

No baptisms found, but a burial in 1811, at St Peter Stutton, for Rachael Peck, age 48. Nothing definite on father Joseph but a couple of possible clues;

20 July 1814 - Bury and Norwich Post - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England

At Ipswich quarter-sessions, David Williams, tor stealing- wearing apparel from Mr. Goyrnour, ot Stonham ; and Joseph Peck , for the same offence, the property of Patrick Waldron, of the 5-Uh Regt. ot foot, were both sentenced to 7 years' transportation.
I can't find anything else on this case though  ???

Another possibility; a prison hulk record for a Joseph Peck, aboard the York at Portsmouth, born abt 1765, charged with a misdemeanour in jan 1822 at Chelmsford essex, and sentenced to seven years transportation, he died 1827 in Portsmouth.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate what you are doing. Everyone is so helpful.
I found this info on the internet.

Born 11 Nov 1762 RACHEL ASKOE, dau of John & Elizabeth
18 Nov 1783 JOSEPH PECK, singleman of Tattingstone, & RACHAEL ASKOE,
singlewoman, were married by banns.
Witnesses: William Turner & Thomas Briton

I can't find Josephs birth year or where but 1765-1827 does fit.

I found mention of PATRICK WALDRON Born STROKESTOWN, Roscommon Served in 54th Foot Regiment Discharged aged 35.
Joseph apparently stole from this man but I am not sure if this is James father from Stutton, Suffolk.

Hi XXXXbeer,

I have been researching James Peck the convict. He is my (lots of greats) grandfather and is I still live is the district where he spent most of his life. Because there is a reasonable amount of detail available, I am attempting to present it as a short story rather than a list of facts/dates.
This discussion has helped me clarify some of my own findings and direct me on where to check others.
Just wondering how you're going with your research, your interest in JP and if I may be able to help in you search.
