New York Marriage certificates 1883

I live in the UK and wondered if anybody could help with a query.

One of my ancestors, Richard Whittington, married Alice Britnell in Manhattan on 15 October 1883.

Can anybody please tell me if and how I can obtain a copy of their marriage certificate.
