Trish,

Thanks for your response. That census looks interesting - great. Can't follow up right now...life and other things getting in the way today! But will look later.

Never considered a second marriage - I suppose because wife's name didn't change. But that difference in age should have alerted me.

Thanks,
Suzie

I can't find another marriage either, that would fit.
Also there is another John Moreton bap in Wrenbury in 1812 as well as 1805!
Maybe this is another family but I suppose they could have moved for work. I found a Joseph and Nancy  Moreton on the 1841 census living near Nantwich . I'll look some more tomorrow.

Hallo Ruth,

I have not been able to give this much attention today and now I think I'll leave it till tomorrow to try and bring together all these suggestions from folk like yourself and see what I think. A day or two away from these conundrums sometimes helps. It clears the head!

Please don't let this take up any more of your time. I am always so appreciative of people's help on this forum and I don't want to extend any further time wasted on me and this. Anyway, I have more to go on than I did before which is a positive. Please believe me when I say I am not dismissing you; far from it!  I just don't want you or anyone else to go to any more trouble on my behalf. Hope I worded that properly and you understand.

Suzie

no problem Suzie  ;)
Just post if you want any more help, though they are very elusive. I've got a marriage I have never been able to find, but I've now decided they never married, just lived in sin as we used to say!

Heather Julie

Thanks for your input and email. I vaguely remember seeing that one on the IGI but in the end, having had time to digest everything, I will discount it; it's too late a birth for someone dying age 72/73 in 1868.  But thanks all the same.
