Is this Josephs wife Mary Hewitt
« on: Friday 20 February 15 19:18 GMT (UK) »
Trying to figure out this woman's death date. The photo with the children would be about 1905, as that is when my gran was born, she is on Mary's lap. The second one is also Mary, but, she is supposed to have died in 1907. Could some one possibly age THAT much in two years?

Thanks in advance
Cheers

Hi Freckle,

Are you sure they are the same person?  The lady with the children has very different eyes, they look bright and cheery and the other lady's eyes are deep set.
If it is the same lady, then the might have had an illness that made her look old and given her the deep set eyes.

Although it's been heavily edited the first photo looks 1880's.
Is the second photo a postcard ?

Hi jim, cat, diesse,
I'm unsure about them as the cousin who sent them has changed her email, so can not check. They are both labelled as Mary Ann Jewell, and she is the only one with that name associated with this line. I have a few other photos of her, but she is a lot younger. I didn't think it was her either. She was hospitalized with the flu in 1901. The lass standing is my great aunt Ivy born 1903. Ivy changed very little and still looks the same as a teenager.
These may have come from anywhere in the family, but I suspect they belong to CC as she is Ivys grand-daughter.
The lady in the photo survived the sinking of the General Grant in 1866 and we are all quite proud of her. 18 months on a deserted island, only female of 10 survivors.
Thank you all for your input, will have to just wait till CC gets in touch.

Cheers

Just to add another opinion, I agree with everyone else, and these are two separate people.
