Completed: Marriage look up at Marcham
« on: Sunday 22 February 15 19:17 GMT (UK) »
Its a long shot but if someone has the parish records for Marcham on cd disc could they possibly do a marriage lookup for me please.
The brides first name was RUTH, surname n/k. Groom, Maximillian Price of Hardwick.
I estimate the marriage c1730. I do know that Ruth was born in Garford.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi broadysword,

I do have the CD that contains Marcham but unfortunately I couldn't find
the marriage you seek.

The Oxfordshire FHS do offer a search facility at a very reasonable fee and if you contact them
here, they may be able to help;

Hi
Now this is too much of a similarity for me not to put this on here for you in case it is important.

Something within your post prompted a bell to ring for me regarding the last name of the groom - ish so I went looking and it may be an amazing coincidence or;

St Kenelms Church, Minster Lovell, Oxfordshire

12 Oct 1795 the marriage of Maximilian Price and Ruth HOBBS botp after banns. Wits; John Harris and WC Price

Anyway hope it helps

My thanks to ribbo 39 and NDRFT for their replies to my post.
I am so delighted that a marriage has been found much to my surprise at Minster Lovell. Funny enough I have the church records on a cd disc but never investigated that place believing any marriage would have taken place near to where the bride was born. How wrong was I! and I only live 2 miles away!
So I cannot express my gratitude enough.
Kind regards, Andrew.
