Are your Rowsell family related to the Rowsell family who run the farm in Rockingstone area of Pontypridd today.

I believe the Rowsell family are related to my Boyce family of Pontypridd via marriage.
 I am led to believe a Rowsell daughter married one of my Boyce relatives.

 Do you have anything on this.

All my Boyce family were from Ditcheat and Evercrech areas of Somerset.

Most of my family are from and still are in Pontypridd. An uncle of mine does own a farm but i must say that i have never heard of rockingstone in pontypridd even though i have lived here for 23 years.  I would be happy to share what i have though and see if there is a connection

The are jknown as the Rockingstone is above where the old round houses stood.
The Rowsells farm is up above them on the mountain side.
Towards the old Cottage Hospital is Rockingstone terrace and this is the area many of my Boyce relations came from.

There is a massive stone on top of the Ponty Common which is the Rockingstone. It is situated opposite the Hosital.
I have family relations up there known as the Follett family as my Granchers sister married Walter Follett although i dont actually know where.
But i am lead to believe that the older woman named Rowsell knows a lot about the boyce family connections.
All the Boyce family in Wood road , lower alma tce and Rickard street are my relatives.My dad came from Upperboat.
i would be grateful of any info which i could pass on.

After you e-mailed yesterday i went to talk to my mother and ask her if she knows about it.  My uncle own's the farm up on the common.  My family including myself are from trefforest also.  My grandfatehr owned the forest hotel pub on wood road and now my cousin who owns the farm up the common has the pub.

Are you from pontypridd yourself.  When i get home this evening i will send you what i have on the Rowsell's

no i myself am not from pontypridd.
I was born in the Cynon Valley and moved to Bridgend two years ago.

although i still have many relatives living in the area from my tree.
these include the Boyce's from Wood Road, Lower Alma tce , Rickard street,Phillip st and Hopkinstown .
Aswell as the Follett family up the Common

Members of the family were in the Salvation Army in Treforest. The main one being Granny Boyce  { Elizabeth Jane Boyce nee Hunt }.

i have seen a foto a few weeks ago and a female from the Rowsell family was on it. She was pointed out to me. Thats how i know there is a connection to the Rowsells and the Boyce's from the Common {The Rockingstone}.
I do not have a copy of the foto yet as the relative is getting me a copy from his nephew who lives up that way.
Would appreciate any info.
