1645 North Wales Farm Inventory Ellis ap William (ap) Hugh
« on: Monday 23 February 15 06:30 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I have a copy of a farm inventory made in 1645. I have difficulty reading the itemized list. I deciphered the 3rd through 8th items as
2 Cows
6 Heifers
Another 6 Heifers
6 Young Ones
6 Calves
12 horses young and old
Household stuff

But I can't make out items 1 and 2 or the last one, item 9.

I would be grateful for suggestions, also any comments on this mix of livestock. Is it likely Ellis was a horse breeder?  There are no sheep, and I can't see how he would need so many horses on a dairy farm!

Thanks!
