My relatives have all said she was a De grey. Even though have never found any evidence.  Can you find Mercy on the 1871 and 1881 census records

Did Sarah marry again?
Thomas, Aaron and Mercy all have middle initial H (for Hadley? - though Thomas should be a de Gray)

Have only found De grey and Hadley. Don't know. It strange my great Aunt only knew the Degrey name. Never heard Bracknell mentioned. Spoke to relative last week and she said she was called Mercy De Grey. Its definitely a mystery

Sarah Hadley married John thomas Bracknell in 1867 in Dudley found on BMD.  Mercy would have been a Hadley
