Interesting that he appears to have arrived in Australia in 1910 as he was included on the 1911 UK census. Perhaps his parents did not notice his absence - he was one of about 12 children! the second eldest son

The Bevan part of his name was from his mother whose maiden name was Bevan

Hi,

The Regent Street Redfern address was the address on the embarkation roll for 3777, Private Bevan Williams of the 10th reinforcements, 53rd Battalion.  His next of kin was his father, John Williams, Grove Farm, Alteryn, Newport, Monmouth, England.

Thank - you Aussie1947

Re your post & the 1933 Commonwealth Registers - would WBW be a resident/patient/inmate  at the Liverpool Hospital? or was it the norm to be registered by place of work

Thanks again

LD

PS - haven't  looked at the link in your last post yet - a nice warm sunny day here (UK) & the garden is calling me!!
