DEATHS
REID- On 2nd July 1942 at her residence, 'Walmer", Marine Parade, Southport, Alexina Margaret Murrey Ewing, relict of the late William Reid, in her 87th year, privately cremated.

Alexander Ewing Walmer Reid, born 6th July 1892, Rutherglen, Scotland, enlisted into the 2nd AIF  in 1941 with his next of kin as his sister Isabel Reid.

Alexander served in the Royal Field Artillery during WW1 and he won an MC on the Somme.

In 1946 he gave evidence in divorce proceedings involving his sister.
