Howard Virtue Snook lived in Hillingdon between 1924 and 1934. He was a Civil Engineer who worked for Hampshire UDC in Haslemere before WW1.

Can anyone find references about him in Hillingdon or Uxbridge?

The 1929 phone book has him as Captain Howard V Snook - I didn't check the rest.

FindMyPast has a couple of pages of RAF record in their British Royal Air Force, Officers' Service Records 1912-1920.  The second page is only one line.

I had these details: From 10 Apr 1917 to 30 Oct 1919; Military Service in the Royal Flying Corps.

Also; in May 1924, Senior Works and Buildings Officer. R.A.F. (Cadet) College,  Cranwell, Lincolnshire.

StevieSteve,  If you are in the UK a large number of County libraries allow you to access The Times and other newspaper archives from home.  You just need a library card.

Muffin, I am not seeing any mention of him in The Times.

As I do not live in the UK I thought that maybe a RootsChat member living in the Uxbridge area could make a trip to the local Library and maybe find an article in a local newspaper reporting his death???
